David Beckham Academy

As many people are aware, Year 5 were very fortunate to be invited to the David Beckham Academy. The children had a fantastic time (although a little disappointed that the great man himself was unable to attend!!). The children were put into four teams - England, Spain, Sweden and France. Fairlop Primary School also attended; the children were placed into another four teams - Germany, Argentina, Brazil and Holland. The children learnt about the variety of roles involved in football, they also played in a football tournament. The children earned points throughout the day for good sportsmanship, team effort, individual skills as well as healthy options in their lunch packs. The points were totalled at the end of the day - Germany were the overall winners (Fairlop), but the scores were very close! One team member, from each team was awarded a medal for their outstanding contribution to the day. In 5B James F.W. and Lucas were medal winners. Congratulations boys - well deserved!

The children were very well behaved throughout the day; they were a credit not only to the school and families but most importantly, themselves.A huge thank you to all the parents that came with us. Lots of photos were taken and a small selection is shown below.
